I broke my mask. I was using a RESMED Activa mask, and I picked the mask up while it was under the comforter. The plastic piece snapped.
It occured to me that one way to improve the design of CPAP would be to work on making it with materials that are more durable. These materials would have to be light weight and yet strong. Perhaps a better grade of plastic or kevlar or some other type of material.
The CPAP industry might look at it like "great, the guy broke a mask, so we can sell a new unit". I hope that they will not think that way. A lot of people do not have enough money to run out and buy a new mask. For some, it would be a major problem. There is also the problem of what happens to a person if the mask breaks on the Friday of the long weekend and he will not be able to get a new mask for several days. That means enduring a lot of discomfort, and in some cases, even placing his life at risk.
I hope that you will please work on a higher grade polymer.
